What we collect

The contact form

If you write to us through the form, we receive your name, your email address, the message you write, and the website or listing address if you choose to give one. That last field is optional and the form says so.

We also record the time of the submission and the IP address it came from. The IP is used to limit how many messages a single source can send in an hour, which is how the form resists automated abuse without a third-party spam service.

Server records

Our host records the requests it serves, which includes your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser's user agent string. This happens for every website you visit and is how a server is operated and secured. We do not combine these records with anything else or use them to build a profile.

What we do not collect

No analytics of any kind. No Google Analytics, no first-party analytics, no heatmaps, no session recording. We do not know how many people read a given page.

No cookies. No tracking pixels. Nothing is written to your browser's local storage. No advertising networks and no interest-based advertising. We do not sell or share personal information, and we never have.

Who receives it

Four companies are involved in serving this site or handling a message you send. None of them receives anything for their own purposes.

• Cloudflare hosts the site and stores contact form submissions until they are deleted on the schedule below.
• Resend delivers your message to our inbox as an email.
• Bunny CDN serves the photographs, so it receives the request for each image.
• Google Fonts serves one typeface used on this site, which means your browser requests a font file from Google and Google sees your IP address in doing so. This is the only request that leaves our own infrastructure for a visitor who never uses the form. We are moving that typeface onto our own server, and this line comes out when we do.

We will also disclose information where the law requires it, or where we need to in order to establish or defend a legal claim. Nothing else.

How long we keep it

A contact form submission is deleted from our store 24 months after you send it. That is enforced automatically by an expiry set on the record when it is written, not by anyone remembering to do it.

The email itself is a separate thing. Once your message reaches our inbox it becomes ordinary business correspondence and is kept with our other business records. We do not state a fixed period for the inbox, because nothing automatically enforces one and we would rather tell you that than claim a number.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to the address at the bottom of this page and we will respond within thirty days.

California residents have these rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, along with the right not to be treated differently for exercising them. Two of the rights that Act provides do not apply to us in practice: we do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of. The categories we collect are identifiers, meaning your name, email address and IP address, and the contents of the message you choose to send.

We do not respond to Do Not Track browser signals, because we do not track you whether the signal is set or not.

Children

This site is for businesses and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect anything from a child. If you believe a child has sent us something, write to us and we will delete it.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Contact form submissions are stored on Cloudflare's network and are accessible only to us. No system is perfectly secure, and we are not going to claim otherwise, so please do not send anything sensitive through a web form. If you need to send us something confidential, call us and we will arrange a better route.

Links to other sites

Some pages link out to other websites, including Yelp, and one article links to a scheduling service where you can book a call with us. Following any of those links takes you somewhere with its own privacy practices, which we do not control. This policy covers only what happens on this site.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. We do not consider your continued use of the site to be agreement to a new version, so if a change ever affects information you have already sent us, we will contact you rather than rely on you noticing this page.
